Planet Charlie is the third-priority world of the Planetary Triad. It is not named because it is third from WAI, and it is not necessarily the third-largest planet in the system. Its name reflects its place in the ancient resource-interest hierarchy used by the Brains' Cage or its descendant intelligence.

Charlie likely provided complementary resources rather than simply duplicating Alpha and Beta. It may have been colder, smaller, more volatile-rich, or more chemically useful for materials that the first two worlds lacked. Buried ice, hydrated minerals, carbon-bearing compounds, cooling resources, shielding material, or fabrication-relevant chemistry may have made Charlie valuable enough to become part of the Triad.

During the Interregnum, Planet Charlie was infrastructuralized less than Alpha and probably less than Beta, but it still mattered. Its value was not necessarily scale. Its value was resource diversity. A preservation intelligence trying to build durable systems would need not only metals and silicates, but also volatiles, cooling mass, chemistry, and orbital balance.

In later history, Planet Charlie remained one of the three ancient worlds through which the Planetary Triad was remembered. Like Alpha and Beta, it passed through Archipelago development, conflict, repurposing, Infernal War damage, Central Algorithm stabilization, and modern Complex integration.
