Planet Beta is the second-priority world of the Yrnus System. Like Planet Alpha and Planet Charlie, its name reflects material value to the ancient preservation intelligence rather than orbital order or size alone.

Beta was less useful than Alpha as the primary anchor of the system, but still valuable enough to become one of the three worlds of the Planetary Triad. It was likely smaller, drier, more fractured, more exposed, or more compositionally specialized than Alpha. These traits would make it less ideal as the first world of settlement and infrastructure, but highly efficient for mining, extraction, industrial expansion, and support operations.

During the Interregnum, Planet Beta accumulated infrastructure more slowly and less densely than Planet Alpha. By the time the first IKARYS Complex Space Station was established around Alpha, Beta already possessed meaningful resource and industrial systems, though substantially less than Alpha.

Across the Archipelago, Planet Beta's value came from its role as a secondary but durable material base. It was part of the ancient Triad inheritance, useful enough to be contested, developed, repurposed, and eventually absorbed into the modern Complex as a post-urban planetary node.
