1. Short Description
Triad (planets) is the historical name given to the three first principal planets associated with the earliest material foundation of the line that would eventually lead to the Archipelago. The Archipelago itself begins later, with the first IKARYS Complex Space Station in orbit of Planet Alpha.

Triad (planets) refers to the three first principal planets associated with the earliest post-Brains' Cage material foundation. These planets appear in later archaeology as the first great material basis from which the line toward the Archipelago became legible.
The Archipelago does not begin immediately with the supposed arrival of the Brains' Cage or with the first development of the planets. The intervening period is called the Interregnum: a grey zone of automated expansion, preservation infrastructure, resource extraction, computation, and uncertain agency. Its duration is uncertain, but usually calculated between 50,000 and 900,000 years. The conventional beginning of the Archipelago is the establishment of the first IKARYS Complex Space Station in orbit of Planet Alpha.
At that point, Planet Alpha was already heavily populated with infrastructure, though still far from an ecumenopolis. Planet Beta and Planet Charlie also had infrastructure, but significantly less than Planet Alpha.
The IKARYS Complex Space Station was not the first station ever built and not the only orbital habitat of its age. It marks the start of the Archipelago because it was the first orbital complex with enough continuity, memory, computation, hosted consciousness, institutional persistence, and algorithmic coordination to become the recognizable axis of later history. The word "Complex" begins literally as a complex of stations: an Alpha-orbit station that grows, replicates modules, produces associated stations, forms an orbital network, and becomes a local system of preservation, coordination, computation, allocation, and stabilization. The Central Algorithm was tied to this infrastructure from early on as a technical and preservational core, but it was not yet the civilizational authority of the later Complex.
They should not be confused with Triad (IG-Bridges), the name sometimes applied to the three first IG-Bridges created in a much later infrastructure context. The two uses share a name because both refer to foundational threes, but they belong to different layers of history.
Triad (planets) belongs to the deepest origin problem around the Brains' Cage, Pre-Triad History, and the emergence of the early line that later became the Archipelago. It is not a modern political district, not a set of IG-Bridges, and not the same thing as later important star systems inside the mature Complex.
